Cajun Veggie Rice

Cajun-Veggie-Rice
Celery, onion and bell peppers are considered to the “Holy Trinity” of Cajun cuisine.  These aromatic vegetables along with an array of spices and cooking techniques are the building blocks of any authentic Cajun meal.   This rice recipe is very simple and incorporates the Holy Trinity along with the MBMK Cajun Seasoning Blend.


Prep time: 10 minutes . Cook Time: 20 minutes . Yield: Serves 6

2 Cups Cooked Brown Rice
1/2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Medium Red Bell Pepper (~1 Cup), chopped
2 Celery Stalks (~1 Cup), chopped
1 Medium Yellow Onion (~1 Cup), chopped
1-2 Tsp MBMK Cajun Seasoning Blend
3 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
Salt to taste

1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add vegetables and cook for about 10 minutes until fragrant and onions are translucent; stir occasionally.
2. Stir in brown rice and Cajun seasoning blend. Mix well. Add salt to taste
